Chair-based Yoga Classes

What problems might you be facing right now?

You may find it difficult to motivate yourself to do exercise.

You may be feeling stiff and achy.

You may be sedentary for long periods during the day.

You may not have done any exercise for a while: perhaps because you are concerned about exercising safely due to some medical or physical conditions.

Maybe your physio/osteopath or chiropractor suggested that you may benefit from chair-based yoga or chair-based exercise.

You have heard about chair-based yoga or chair-based exercise and wondered if it would suit you but feel a bit anxious about giving it a try.

You feel that you may need time to move slowly into and out of the yoga poses due to being stiff and achy or because you have medical conditions which make movement a little slower.

You may find it difficult to relax.

What you need help with right now…

You want to benefit from a regular chair-based exercise class which will help you to feel fitter and stronger and help alleviate aches and stiffness. You want to continue to be able to function independently with tasks of daily living. You are looking for a group class where you can work at a slower pace if necessary and a friendly, patient teacher who can offer support with modifications to poses to suit your body. You want to feel motivated to do exercise which suits you. You would like some tips on exercises which you can do at home between classes. You may need some practical tips on how to relax.

How can the weekly classes help you?

Chair-based Yoga classes are held in Weston-super-Mare, Locking & Winscombe or via Zoom.. You can be sure to get the attention and support you are looking for. Chair-based yoga has lots of health benefits including building muscle strength, building bone mass density, improving flexibility, protecting your spine, improving posture, and increasing blood flow. In addition, some people find yoga helpful to cope with stress, anxiety & depression. We work both seated on the chair and standing up using the chair for support. If you are unable to stand, we can adapt these poses for you. Chair-based yoga is a great alternative for those who are unable to get up and down from the floor easily as in a traditional yoga class. We also have lots of fun!! Each class ends with a short relaxation period. It is NEVER TOO LATE IN LIFE to start exercising and improving yourself both physically and mentally!!
